Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral?
No. You can self-refer and book directly.
Is this confidential?
Yes. We begin by explaining confidentiality in a clear and supportive way, including the rare situations where we may need to act if there is a serious risk to you or someone else.
Can I request a male or female clinician?
Yes. We understand that comfort matters, and where possible we will match you with your preferred clinician. Please share your preference when booking.
Do you provide Islamic counselling?
We provide evidence-based counselling that can be faith-sensitive. If you would like Islamic perspectives integrated into your sessions, we can include them in a respectful and thoughtful way. If you prefer not to, we will keep the focus purely clinical.
Is this only for Muslims?
Afiya inMind is designed with Muslim community needs in mind. Others who value culturally respectful care are also welcome.
Is telehealth effective?
For many people and a wide range of concerns, telehealth can be both effective and convenient. We’ll work with you to decide what best suits your needs.
